Mandolin Perspective
I'd also been taking pictures for future stencils but I really can't have a camera in my hand without using angles

Sutton House
Linenfold paneling and the painted 'temporary' linenfold paintings underneath
Tudor wall painting-still there!
lovely 16th century fireplace
small parlor
great chamber's fireplace
by far my favorite bit of this house was the hinged wall paneling that you could pull to expose the Tudor brickwork and arches
Victorian staircase and Tudor timbering
burn marks on a 16th century lintel from candles!
"mysterious figure" carved above a fireplace believed to be holding a grid iron (used to cook meat and as an instrument of torture) Perhaps a good luck charm to ward off the devil who tried to come into houses through unlit chimneys.
most awesome embroidered gloves
Tudor kitchen (original fireplace mantel)

St Augustine Tower
this must've been in a church
this is the tower of St Augustine built at the end of the 13th century (rest of the church demolished 1797)
It's a Grade I listed building which makes it the creme of the crop in terms of historic buildings-luckily I happened to be in Hackney on Sunday when it was open for free
another tomb I bet was once inside
very old timber
the workings of a still working 16th century clock
spiral staircase
view from the top!

18th century figures
probably a Wren church constructed in 1666 to fill needs following the Great Fire-modified for a school (hence the scholar figures) and then after WWs into officess. These figures were packed away to preserve them
