Rotherham Minster

set on a hill in the middle of town, described as "a visual fulcrum for town centre"

you can see the slope of the hill but the minster stands really well-a true perpendicular gothic monument

one of the lovely windows

really enjoy the silvered timber and gold accent

proper organ from 1777

a little hidden but what a great medieval brass!

a look down the nave

who can fail to be charmed by the excellent carvings on the choir stalls-poppyhead of Three Wise Men

main chapel roof

a view of the crossing tower

clear indication of the age of this minster-this window is part of long abandoned liturgy based upon the sun's position

the side chapel's screen and roof

very old element in a rather newer place
