Sandal Castle

Destroyed during the Civil War, Sandal Castle was the site of many an intrigue and was the setting for one of Shakespeare's plays.

Wakefield Cathedral

Dating primarily from the 15th century, Wakefield Cathedral was recently renewed. It is a small and intimate cathedral dominated by a mid-century rood topping the 17th century screen.

St Peter-Parish Church of Leeds

tucked into a rather unsavory bit of Leeds downtown

their intense nativity set...with an extremely East Asian wise king
I loved the church's dark wood staircases
leading to the second story gallery

 Leeds Cross
 the rather tessarae like reredos
in addition to this Hardwick medieval tomb, this church has a very rare painted tomb tucked into a dark corner

 the main wall tiles
