Snowiest Winter Ever!

I remember the blizzard of 96(ish?) and how I almost got lost in a snow drift and lost a boot permanently (I was also less than 4' tall.) So now I'm in the Philadelphia area...on Friday early evening-Saturday afternoon we got a blizzard that dumped over 2 feet of snow on us. That was exciting. Less than a week later, Tuesday night-ALL Wednesday, we got more snow. Enough snow to break the record! According to the news, 70.3 inches have fallen upon us with like 3.5' still on the ground. This is all fun except for the horizontal wind and the annoying East Coast habit of melting a little and then freezing into an ultra-slippery ground. No scaled photos this time, I don't have a ruler long enough.

The Tree

every year this tree surprises me. it's such an old tree with gnarled bark and mossy rivers running down its very thick trunks and twirling branches. all winter it looks large, imposing, stark, and strong. and then, every spring, it suddenly blooms in the most delicate white flower that turns pink as the season goes on in a sudden large cloud of delicate color offset by its still dark trunk.

Stunning

this is such a bmc thing to find written into a library book. other colleges have profanity written in the books, bmc has high-brow criticism

Aftermath

I've lived here for 2 years and I've never noticed that ridge on the roof. I do always enjoy the icicles from the gutters year after year though

I kind of really enjoy snow build up on iron curlicues
